"We are both consistent, the implementation of Coretax should not interfere with efforts to collect state revenue," said Suryo in a press conference after a meeting with Commission XI at the DPR, quoted on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
In the meeting, the DPR Commission XI had asked for the implementation of Coretax to be postponed. However, the results of the agreement from the meeting of about four hours decided that Coretax would remain in effect together with the old system. So that there are two tax reporting systems. The conclusion was confirmed by the chairman of Commission XI of the People's Representative Council, Mukhamad Misbakhun.
"Earlier we concluded that the Directorate General of Taxes is reusing the old taxation system, as an anticipation in mitigating the implementation of Coretax which is still being refined. So as not to disrupt the collectivity of tax revenues," he said.
Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations of the Directorate General of Taxes Dwi Astuti said that the two systems would run side by side, "the implementation of Coretax DJP (Directorate General of Taxes) is carried out in parallel with several legacy features before implementation," he said in an official statement, quoted Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
